Emergency Plumbing Tips Every Homeowner Should Know

Turning off the water is the first step in almost every plumbing emergency. On village water, the main shutoff is usually near the water meter where the line enters the basement. On a private well, it is typically a valve near the pressure tank, and you can also shut off the pump at its breaker.
